I knew I was going to write today, I couldn’t but write not only to be part of history when my children grow up and need to dig deep into history & the lives of of learned heroes but to be able to also give the generation coming after mine a sense of patriotism and hope without lies or exaggeration. I write these words through the highest inspirations ever & so wish you always remember that we have the greatest minds and brains around the world and in same way great books and letters have been written…be inspired to know that just one person, one good person can make us all do whats right. A good man can make so many see things from a different but positive perspective. I am certain these has happened before …I just feel its time to write about all the good happening around us.
My generation in a way have lost a lot over time through history of who the men who brought them freedom….were while they lived and how they influenced those around them. We have only grown to read about military take-overs, embezzlement and so much negative news about Africa and most especially, Nigeria.
LET’S STATE FACTS FOR FACTS…I AM NOT A NIGERIAN LIVING OUTSIDE THE COUNTRY, I WITNESS ALL AM ABOUT TO WRITE ABOUT DAILY. IT WILL BE WRONG TO EXPERIENCE ALL THESE CHANGES AND BEAUTY & NOT SHARE OR WRITE ABOUT THEM. THE NEXT GENERATION YET TO BE BORN DESERVE TO READ AND EXPERIENCE IT THE WAY IT REALLY DID HAPPEN THROUGH OUR WORDS -IN DESCRIPTION.
A man we have all come to love, respect and pray for. What is the secret? What does he have that we do not see in others? How has he affected us all? What are his contributions to the Nigerian society and how come we can’t but wish him well?
So many reasons to write..some think he may not deliver, that he may be over-whelmed with the number task and the more….I want him him to really flog these issues head-on. We all know Fashola does best when he is challenged and these is what he is bringing to the table. We in the property business feel a lot of changes will come to place with a lawyer as the head man in-charge. WHY POWER? Raji Fashola generated power to light up most of the hospitals in Ikeja.
FASHOLA COMMISSIONS 8.8 MEGAWATTS MAINLAND INDEPENDENT POWER PROJECT – OCTOBER,2014.
…Says competence, ability to deliver not religion or ethnicity should guide the choice of Nigerians as elections approach the Lagos State Governor, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, SAN on Wednesday formally commissioned the 8.8 Megawatts Mainland Independent Power Project, charging Nigerians not to accept any excuses for the inability of the government at the center to provide stable electricity.
The Governor who spoke at the State Electricity Board, Old Secretariat, Ikeja location of the Power Plant noted that those who promised steady power supply in the past four years have shown that their best is simply not good enough having failed to deliver on the promise.
He described the successful completion of the Mainland Independent Power Project as a demonstration that the present Government is one that makes a public commitment and is duty bound to ensure that it stands by it.
Fashola said the law in Nigeria does not permit state governments to distribute electricity for consumption by members of the public, but to power specific government projects and offices within the state.
Fashola, who stated that the law in Nigeria does not permit state governments to distribute electricity for consumption by members of the public, said the state could only generate power for use by itself. According to him, the electricity being generated by the Lagos State government is not for distribution to households, as it will be illegal to do so, but to power specific government projects and offices. He urged Nigerians to vote out the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) if they have to enjoy stable power supply. Now you have all done the right thing, we believe Raji Fashola will deliver.

Do you know his wife? I had the opportunity to meet the wife of the governor during a charity event and send forth party organized by a former permanent secretary, Mrs. Iyabo Regina Obasa who worked with her husband. We all felt her warmth and open-mindedness. It was a surprise party for her and she did show appreciation and humility like a lady who was brought up well. They just seem to compliment one another.
Do you know about his daily life and the people who stood behind him and those who will forever be with him and suffer for his sacrifices for Nigeria? Well, I only met the wife one of these charity events and its not only about our beloved Raji Fashola….I realized it was a family thing. They must have had a way of communicating and through their discussions before he became a governor….I believe they knew what the task was and why they had to give all they had…and all they believed in. We have all come to love this house-hold name…what about their sacrifices? What about thier beliefs, hurdles and more?

Under her leadership, COWLSO had commissioned four (4) recreation centres, and paid for the free screeening and treatment of women with breast and cervical cancer. COWLSO also built the first retirement villa for active retirees and senior citizens.
She is a tireless advocate of health and socioeconomic issues, who has had a towering impact on public awareness and sensitization campaigns on topical issues of children and women health, the environment, education, HIV/AIDS discrimination, voluntary blood donation, poverty eradication and skill acquisition.
As a dedicated humanitarian, who gives her time, expertise, and resources to make a difference in the lives of people, especially the youths, this passion gave birth to her initiative – LEARN (Lagos Empowerment and Resource Network) a non-governmental organization established to groom youths to be self-confident and socially responsible.
In recognition of her modest contribution to humanity, she was honored by His Holiness, Pope Benedict the XVI, with a papal medal award. She is also a recipient of several other local and international awards. Of all her achievements, the greatest according to the former First Lady is being a devoted wife and mother.
Jagaban of Borgu made me know Fashola. The name was cool and as young Nigerian and most especially a Lagosian….we all wanted and supported what Bola Ahmed Tinubu did. If not for so many things that can never be popular now…Bola Ahmed Tinubu did it because he was generous, focused and reliable. He took the mantle and made sure he built a strong party through the strength and finances available within his tenure as a governor of Lagos state. He laid the foundation and introduced us to Raji Fashola…We can only be always grateful to Tinubu.
Raji wa!(Our Raji) won’t be known by any of us if he did not go through the school he passed through after being a senior advocate. His journey started after he became a senior advocate, his journey for Nigerians. He came to serve Lagosians when the likes of Dele Alake, Rafiu Aregbesola, Gbenga Ashafa just to mention a few great Lagosians were teaming up…hand-picked and fused by Bola Ahmed Tinubu. This was history in the making…No one saw it coming. No dreamer could … They thought it was all about leading Lagos and letting the whole nation rot in a slow paced development. Questions were asked…Glory…Glory…Glory…It did happen though a lot was sacrificed. The man called Bola Ahmed Tinubu had to let his haters have a filed day every time and till date with his name and personality. He stood strong, remained focused and like soccer once defenders hear or know about a striker who scores goals in every match he plays….they tend to try to mark the player out of the game. They failed! This team that later became APC, had loads of substitutes who could bang in as much goals as Bola Ahmed Tinubu infact….some did better than he did as a governor and with his maturity and leadership….
PDP, A PARTY THAT RULED FOR 16 YEARS GOT SWEPT OFF LIKE THEY NEVER EXISTED.
To every young person reading, you will and can only become or do greater than Fashola by going to school and making sure you get the best of every degree and beat your mates hands-down. Greatness starts way before you become popular. Greatness starts in the classrooms…with you good behavior and visible obedience to every elder. Your ideas, your suggestions and your approach to issues…no matter how anyone disagrees…..when the right time comes…the whole world will agree to what never to. Destiny has a second place to these story….it took his beliefs, his consistency and firmness to be able to turn things around.
FASHOLA, did not just get to where he was because Jagaban gave him a shot to be a governor? It took more than that….Those alive today all witnessed the transformation and increase in the style of raising revenue from 2007 – 2017. He was the 13th governor of lagos state. He came to some as a name never heard and a new face. He did what he had to do as a governor and we thank him for the service. He are a few of his wonderful accomplishments.
– The fight against Ebola, Infrastructural renewal of Lagos, Education – rehabilitation of schools all around Lagos, Rural Transformation – Light rail construction & Public safety & the introduction of BRT…He brought so much class to leadership.
I WAS ALIVE AND LIVED IN LAGOS WHEN HE INTRODUCED BRT…AND THE WHOLE OF NIGERIA FOLLOWED HIS IDEAS IN TACKLING THE TRANSPORTATION PROBLEMS WE HAD AND MAY STILL HAVE. FOLKS THIS IS NOVEMBER, 2015.
Days ago I read Otunba Dele Momodu’s pendullum and sincere had to thoughts running down my mind….Did he just create a ‘soft landing’ for Deziani Allison Madueke? Was he supposed to even release the article? Otunba Dele Momodu somehow lost my respect for him based on his last article. He called it investigative journalism? I disagree, how much did she embezzle? What is her connection to the men linked to her and those arrested? We know she has cancer but are we all to remian suffering after all she did and still has no sense of remorse? Those she en-riched already made promises & are trying to strike deals with the government. These folks want to return as much as $500 million dollars so they won’t go to court or be indicted and yet ‘Zelda’ (name of the villian in a cartoon) claims she has done nothing wrong? We sincerely feel used and taken forgranted.
Did Delel Momodu do justice with his article or he just try to make us forgive Deziani Allison Madueke who has not come out to apologize to Nigeirans for her mis-mamngement and high-handedness? Godswill Akpabio said he did not see a Minister for 3 years! He was referring to Ngozi Okonjo Iweala.
I must say we were taken for a ride..and the confirmation came with PDP apologizing to Nigerians for letting the once upon a time ‘HERO’ called Goodluck Ebele Jonathan to re-contest for the presidential election.
To friends who knew, friends who feel used or those who have no clue to why they have supported PDP for 16 years or still support them….all I can say is that we are all Nigerians and we have the right to our different opinions.
WHAT IS WRONG CAN NEVER BE RIGHT!
